    WHAT HAPPENED?

Ronaldo's unimpressive form at Euro 2024 continued as a rotated Portugal side fell to a 2-0 loss against Georgia in the last group stage match. While the result did not affect Portugal's finishing position in the group, the Al-Nassr star was furious after being substituted and was spotted kicking a bottle on the touchline. Ronaldo also seemed visibly upset as he headed down the tunnel following the full-time whistle. On his way off the field, a fan jumped out of the stands to meet the five-time Ballon d'Or legend and almost wiped him out on the stairs heading down the tunnel but was saved by a quick steward pushing the fan out of the way.

Fortunately, Ronaldo was able to walk away without a scratch as a collision with the fan could have seen him sustain an injury. Nonetheless, the incident showcased the effectiveness of the stewards who managed to protect the Portuguese legend, yet highlighted the need for the safety standards that are in place at such tournaments.

    WHAT NEXT FOR RONALDO?

The Al-Nassr star will be hoping to regain top form as he looks to lead Portugal to their second European trophy having won the competition in 2016. Roberto Martinez's men will take on Slovenia on July 1 at the Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt.
